HIE

Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) and Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs) are rapidly improving the range of services they provide. Whether built from Admit, Discharge, Transfer (ADT) notices, CCDs or other data sources like lab values, HIEs and RHIOs play a critical role in facilitating care coordination. With the right infrastructure, HIEs and RHIOs can serve as an information lynchpin for populations with complex care needs, and enable a range of clinical and non-clinical services that drive down costs while improving outcomes.

HCIPartners can be a major asset for HIEs by designing, exploring, and reviewing initiatives that support the needs of complex populations. Our experience with privacy and consent management, data interoperability, and emerging technology standards like HL7s Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) make us uniquely qualified to support HIEs and RHIOs in building a strong set of strategic offerings.

Recent engagements have involved work with HIEs/RHIOs including:
  • Arizona Health-e Connection (AzHeC)
  • New York eHealth Collaborative/SHIN-NY
  • Texas Health Services Authority (THSA)
  • Health Access San Antonio (HASA)
  • Greater Houston Healthconnect
  • Integrated Care Collaborative (Austin, Texas)
